OVERVIEW

Ordinaire is an Absinthe brand that visually embodies its hallucinogenic properties. Named after the creator of Absinthe, Pierre Ordinaire, the brand takes great care to be true to the original distillation process. Handcrafted in small batches, Ordinaire targets mid-high income connoisseurs, ages 34–49. The brand needed a bold and distinct bottle design to align with its visual concept and rich back story.

APPROACH

The Ordinaire bottle conveys the mind-altering effects of absinthe through a surrealist, deconstructed style. The glass is etched with a hypnotic pattern that commands attention on the shelves. A glitchy warp effect is used on imagery and text throughout the brand for an unhinged look. Labels are clean with a gridded layout to bring balanced sophistication to the bottle. A booklet hang tag, built with neon green acrylic covers, contains storytelling about the Ordinaire process and the origins of absinthe.
